2017 GCSE Results

New Forest Academy students have achieved impressive GCSE grades in a broad range of subjects.  69% students achieved the standard pass in English and maths in the new tougher GCSE system.

The government has raised the bar by making GCSEs tougher than ever. It therefore gives us great pleasure to announce that our students have done themselves proud. Their hard work, dedication and commitment have secured for them a bright and prosperous future as they plan the next stage of their education, employment and training. We wish them well as they move to pastures new.

Individual students who have made exceptional progress include: Adam Prince, Ryan Morgan and Nancy Braithwaite, all of whom on average achieved a grade and a half above their peers across 8 subjects.  We commend them for their impressive achievements.

The following students:  Abby Bentley, Lia Bourne, Stephen Faithful, Ethan Hawkins, Bradley Hayward and Katie Shearer also made exceptional progress in that they achieved more than 1 grade above the national average across 8 subjects based on their starting points. This is what the government calls the new progress measure.

We also highly commend the following students for achieving an impressive range of GCSE grades:

Nancy Braithwaite: 7A, 3B, 1C

Jess Cavanagh (who secured an apprenticeship placement at ExxonMobil): 2A*, 8B, 1C.

Dylan Cooper: 1A*, 5A, 2B

Stephen Faithful: 3A*, 3A, 1B

Olivia Hickman: 2A*, 6B, 3C

Caitlin Legg: 2A*, 2A, 5B, 2C

Mia Monahan: 1A**, 2A*, 1A, 3B, 3C

Ryan Morgan: 3A*, 4B, 4C

Darcy Pearce: 2A*, 1A, 5B, 3C

Katie Simmonds: 1A*, 2A, 4B, 4C

                                                                                                    Polly Stephens: 4A*, 4A, 3B

Dylan Gillespie Birch and Tom Macdonald: both of whom achieved 10 GCSE grades A*-C.

The Principal, Karen Godsall said, ‘These individual stories speak for themselves; they show how New Forest Academy students have risen to the challenge presented by tougher GCSEs. I have seen students who have worked tirelessly with their teachers to prove that they can and will achieve their very best in a tougher educational climate.  I am confident that standards at New Forest Academy will continue to move from strength to strength as we keep abreast of the changes taking place with the next wave of the new GCSEs. We are incredibly proud of every student that has worked hard to achieve these grades.’
